Shanda Interactive Entertainment Ltd (Nasdaq: SNDA)
Shanda Networks protects their revenue stream (over $1M a day) from ongoing attacks using IntelliGuard DPS.
Individual servers in the Shanghai data centre were being attacked. The attackers were targetting and disabling individual game logon servers with varied attacks including fully spoofed SYN floods, and UDP floods, and attacks on servers with thousands of "GET" requests per second.

Chungnam National University (Korea)
Chungnam National University’s webservers have suffered from large scale DDoS attacks including being hit with very high rate port scans. Some PCs on the university's network have been infected by malicious code and act as Bots. Finally, flash crowd problems have occurred during semester registration which have historically created great problems for the student body, university administration and, of course, the IT department.

Quadsoft Online Gaming (Korea)
A 5000+ strong bot network hit Quadsoft's game servers with sustained alternating SYN and connection floods. The servers were overwhelmed with the large numbers of large packets, then later overwhelmed with TCP connections. Each time servers were restarted to restore connectivity, they were rapidly overwhelmed again.
